Some dude took a shit behind this place. His kids were just hanging out waiting for him to finish.
People are strange.
I am going to attempt to upload new episodes to this thing when I get chance. Right now I just want to skate the bowl and fuck everything else off, so if I make anything it may be here.

'Cutthroats' is now officially done. Went there today and got ticketed for trespassing and the threat of a burglary charge?
Whatever. Just another spot rinsed by pointless bureaucracy. This place was a fucking wasteland piled high with rubble, old decaying metal and other shit left from the demolition of a building made in the 40's.
It hasn't been developed on, and just sits there dormant and empty. All it takes is one jobsworth secruity, some friendly Police and a lot of red tape and there's another one to scratch off the list.

This place has taken a beating recently, its kind of the only really good spot in Colchester, and its not even in the Hythe. Went there yesterday, drunk some beers and just pissed around.
It's funny how somedays its good to go to spot where you feel at home, where you actually enjoy skating with a group of people as opposed to mithering around for something that may produce one or two tricks for video. Skateboarding is all about exploring new things and new avenues, but its also about recognising something good in what you've got.
Apparently we'll be seeing this place in national press soon enough, so don't expect it to last, but what do I know I think looking like Freddy Mercury is a good thing.

I was in awe.. I felt unworthy.... these curbs had been touched by the gods!! who the fuck am I.

Bar the hill outside my house, this is the first spot I actually "skated".
I say skated, but due to the fact the banana board I owned only had three wheels ( Yet another crappy present from my errant Grandfather ) I kind of just stood there and watched my friend whose Dad had taken us to this infamous wasteland, where a few hotchpotch wooden waves had been erected.
I only went here once, but due to age, never really understood the brevity of such a place.
Makes you think. Everything happens for a reason. Even three wheels and flatops.

We'd collect supplies from a shop on the corner near our apartment, and he would remember our names, and if he didn't he'd call us 'red' or 'fella'. Hundreds of shaggy dog tales and fables stored in his mind, happy to share them all, and at length, to whoever wanted listen.
Its just a shame he never told us his name, or even offered it, for that matter. I remember on the last day, before flying back to England, he looked straight through me, as though we had never spoke, and I was a stranger.

Everyone has there place, their crews spot, the one they'll always remember.
I remember nights in this car park when it was so cold. The wind would rush through pulling snot from your nose and tears from your eyes. I remember we'd all hang out there. Imagine that. A supermarket carpark, being a social hive of activity.
It sounds strange, but sometimes I miss it. Most of the time I definitely don't, but just sometimes, its ghost creeps into my head full of the simplest of wonderment and a cast iron collection of blithe stories, and mildly amusing anecdotes.
Here lies the body of John Jadagowski. A definite shareholder in the wax on those curbs.

To say someone saved your life is a pretty big statement, but in this case, it kind of fits. Everyone worries about that day when they confront there own mortality, you don't really expect it to be on the mini ramp in the town you grew up skating in.
Melodrama, and the murkiness of time aside, this guy knows the story, and I still have the scar. Its situations such as these that show you the true meaning of humility.

At times when things were bad at home or when life wasn't seeming too fine, I'd get the hell out of dodge with my skateboard by my side. My stuntwood was the solution to all the problems when friends were away. I hoped things would get better, they'd just have to. I'd just smile and laugh because the speed felt so good. nowadays I see that different problems continue to pound my head and never seem to get easier but my skateboard and that good feeling will always stay.
